Glovers Cave Collection. Here we have a small collection of Artifacts that were all found at the Glovers Cave Site, in Christian Co. Ky. All are ex Col. Raymond Vietzen and have cave deposits that are very evident. All were made from materials that are consistent with other artifacts found in the cave by Col. Vietzen. I had the book at 1 time, but traded it off...It was a very interesting read, and if you ever get the chance to read it, I highly recommend it and any other works by Col. Vietzen. He was a very interesting person in our hobby and everything I have read, that he wrote, was quite enjoyable. He had a style all his own. Since I have decided to stick with Missouri artifacts, I am going to offer this collection for sale.

List of artifacts in the collection:
The 2 brownish (Dover?) pcs and 1 pc of bone are from the collection of Richard Meade Sr. So are the 2 Hornstone pcs. All were purchased by Mr. Meade at 1 of the Vietzen auctions. I got them from Mr. Meade's son thru the auction site at arrowheads.com, back when Karl Kilguss had it. They measure from 1 3/4" thru 2 5/16" in length.

Bluish colored Motley, 3 1/8" x 1 1/4" is semi-translucent and possibly a type of moss agate, it is ex-Todd Walterspaugh and ex-Kevin Cordeiro.

The final piece of flint, the Beavertail/Adena/Turkeytail was also purchased at one of the Vietzen auctions and passed down to the person I got it from by his grandfather, through his uncle. All I have is an Ebay handle, which I will pass on if requested. I was unable to obtain further information at the time of purchase. I am NOT positive on this material, but it could be Fort Payne.

The big Centerpiece is an Undrilled Limestone Gorget. It measures 4 1/2" x 2 13/16" by approx 3/4" thick. It is very well made, concave on one side and convex on the other. It is covered with cave deposits. If you would like individual pictures of any of these pieces, just ask and I will be glad to take them and email them to you.
For sale as a group only, FRAME NOT INCLUDED. It is an 8x12 rikers and more trouble to ship than it's worth.

# 751 Hopewell Blade
# 751: Hopewell Blade, 5" x 2 9/16". Made of heated Burlington and found in PLatte Co., MO. It has an MAS site number of 23-PL-44 marked on the blade, along with a couple of collection numbers that would probably clean off if wanted. This is another MONSTER piece of no brainer Flint. The minor base ding is ancient and the blade shows good overall mineralization. Ex-Maury Meadows, Ex-Jeff Hipskind collections. A great authentic piece!
SOLD
# 321: 2 3/4" x 2" Snyders Point. Made of some great fossil filled Burlington and reported found in Illinois, I have no county. This point has the great wide notches that Snyders lovers look for and is nicely made. It is much better in hand than the pics appear, and as always, if you don't like it you can return it for a full refund. If you are a Snyders person, I can almost guarantee you WILL keep this one. This Snyders Point has a Jackson COA dated 4/10/2006, papered by Bill and Alex at the Collinsville Show in my name that year.  Ex-Todd Walterspaugh.                             $145
# 454: North Blade
# 454: 3 1/4" x 3" North Blade. Made from Burlington and found in Lincoln Co, Mo. I have history on this one back to the finder. Soil staining and mineralization mark this Hopewell piece another true no brainer, the only way to go! I believe this North is a true Snyders Preform, as opposed to some which were definitely used as made. There are several cool looking inclusions and it looks great in a frame.    SOLD

# 802: 6 1/2" x 1 9/16" Stanfield. Made from a nice piece of Burlington and reported found in Missouri. Great mineralization really adds to this top quality Stanfield that carries Davis paper as a G-10. The heavy bevels from sharpening show this was always used as a knife and certainly add to the character of this blade. Another AWESOME no brainer piece of flint; if you like big blades you'll LOVE this one!     SOLD
